Who is tired? Tired of all the negativity, but find it difficult to be joyful during these days of COVID, where our lives are turned upside-down, and the civil unrest, and changes in government. There’s a lot of grieving, anger, stress and melancholy. I sum it up as, “I got the BLAH.”
I don’t know about you, but I’m done feeling the darkness. I choose light and to be joyful. But how can one choose to be joyful when they might be out of work and worrying about finances? I’ve joined the unemployment world (again). I understand. They say each person will be laid-off, at least, once during their lifetime. I think I’m at around 6? It gets really interesting when both spouses are out of work simultaneously – that has happened to us TWICE.
Let me tell you, those times were even rockier than they are now. And God took care of us back then, and he will now. But sometimes, it’s difficult to have that Faith. Looking at tight finances, we quickly learn what is deemed a necessity vs. a desire. And sometimes hard decisions must be made. God wants to provide us the comfort we seek, and to see us succeed and yes, he has a plan. It may not be one we understand, especially in a life/death situation. In every circumstance, Jesus tells us to pray on everything. We can ask for ANYTHING, as long as we remember we can’t come with sin in our heart. We must give up our anger and forgive others as God has forgiven us. And if we can’t on our own, then we need to pray for assistance with that. Once you have a clear heart, ask away!
24 Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”Mark 11:24-25 (ESV – English Standard Version)
24 That’s why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get God’s everything. 25 And when you assume the posture of prayer, remember that it’s not all asking. If you have anything against someone, forgive – only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins.”Mark 11:24-25 (MSG – Message Version)
