Have you been so busy at work, that you’ve forgotten to take lunch or you look at the clock and exclaim, “Holy, cow! It’s 2:00 and I’m starving. Gotta get some food” Some companies allow the employee a flexible break time, as long as they are legally complaint. Other companies are more restrictive and designate a specific time for the individual.

In the more restrictive realm, I had one HR manager enlighten me as to why the company enforced a designated break time, down to the minute/hour. In addition to ensuring legal compliance, it allowed the employee opportunity to recharge so they can be more productive when returning to their desk. Although that was about the bottom dollar, I believe there is truth to that statement, as when you are so involved in work and for several hours, there’s a higher risk of mistakes, and outlook becomes negative and you get “Hangry” (hungry and angry)

I find it interesting, Jesus was concerned about his disciples resting as well. The apostles were hard at work. When they returned from their tours of ministry in Galilee:

30 Then the apostles gathered to Jesus and told Him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught. 31 And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. 32 So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves.

Mark 6:30-32 (NKJV)

That’s just like meeting with your supervisor, telling them where you’re at in your work, and then breaking for lunch to clear the mind, and return refreshed.

Don’t forget to take your breaks & recharge yourselves! God Bless! Have a great day.
